During the latest transfer window, the Bundesliga welcomed four more US players to Germany, strengthening the German top flight’s position as the home of the brightest and best US talent.

The Bundesliga decided to celebrate their special relationship with North America is a creative way and we loved it!

The DFL commissioned letters in the regional paper of the home town of each new arrival with the hope US soccer fans continue following the players for the rest of the season and ahead of the final qualification matches for the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

Two players made the move from Dallas, 19-year-old Ricardo Pepi joined FC Augsburg and 18-year-old, Justin Che joined Hoffenheim. Both players departed from FC Dallas and featured in The Dallas Morning News.

The Bundesliga is the home of global talent across the global and consistently fields some of the youngest squads of Europe’s top five leagues.

It’s particularly evident when it comes to US players. Prior to this transfer window, 59 players from the US had already represented German teams, more than any other of Europe’s top leagues.

With four more US recruits, the pathway continues to be a popular route for young American footballers.

The DFL’s goal was to celebrate the relationship between the Bundesliga and the US – we think they did the players justice!
